Grays of Chatham, 25-33 High Street, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4EN
Welcome to Grays of Chatham, a landmark in quality vehicle retailing on Chatham High Street for over 80 years. Founded by Don Gray in 1938 as a bicycle shop at number 16 High Street, our family business has grown to encompass a broad spectrum of automotive sales including motorcycles, three-wheelers, and cars, both new and used. Historically, the Gray family has a rich legacy in motorsports. Post-World War II, Don and his brother Norman expanded the business while actively participating in car and motorcycle racing. Notably, Don Gray clinched the Brands Hatch Daily Telegraph International Trophy race in 1951 with his Formula III Cooper Mark V. Norman made his mark by winning the inaugural motorcycle race on the newly paved Brands Hatch circuit. The subsequent years saw further expansion as Norman's sons, Herbert and Donald, joined the business, extending their reach to Maidstone, Sittingbourne, and Gillingham with additional petrol stations across the region. Grays of Chatham has been synonymous with a plethora of esteemed automotive brands over the decades, from Raleigh to Hyundai, embodying a storied heritage of automotive excellence. Today, Grays Used Car Centre proudly offers a selection of up to 100 meticulously chosen low mileage vehicles. Located at 25-35 High Street, directly across from our original site, we continue to uphold the family tradition of excellence and customer service, now stewarded by the third generation, Peter Gray. As we cherish our long-standing history, we invite you to visit Grays of Chatham, where we commit to serving you with integrity and dedication for many more years to come.
